VIRTUAL Pasture Day 2020 (Date TBD)

May 2, 2020 @ 6:00 am - 7:00 am

Free

Due to the ongoing health emergency, the Barstow family has decided to postpone Pasture Day and make it a virtual event.

Pasture Day is one of our most popular events, and we suspect that even with social distancing guidelines in play, the advanced announcement of a rescheduled event will inevitably contribute to gathering. In an effort to put the health and safety of our community first – and get our girls out on pasture for the springtime, Pasture Day will be a virtual event and the date will not be public until day of.

Pasture Day is a special day on the farm. It’s the time of year we determine the fields are dry enough, the grass is green enough, and the fences are repaired to release our ‘dry’ (not currently milking) cow herd onto pasture, and several heifers into the front field of Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery.

Traditionally this special event involves live music, farm tours, lots of ice cream, and a few grass stains. This year the event will be held virtually on Facebook Live and a date and time to be announced. More details to come. Thank you for your understanding.

Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery and Barstow’s Longview Farm is owned and operated by sixth and seventh generation Barstow’s. Nestled at the base of Skinner State Park and right alongside the Connecticut River, the dairy farm has been a part of the landscape since 1806.

Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery offers homemade baked goods and pies, lunch from local ingredients, farm fresh produce, farm raised beef, ice cream, and scenic views of protected farmland from the porch and dining room. This family friendly store is open daily year round. Come meet your neighborhood dairy farmer!
