Barstow's Dairy Store and Bakery looking for someone who loves being in the kitchen! Our Bakery Team loves to bake AND cook a variety of items that we sell in our frozen prepared food freezer and prepare food for catering orders. We are looking for someone who is a positive, self-starter and is available early mornings and at least one weekend day.

Weekday Dishwasher
We are looking for a part-time weekday dishwasher to join our farmstand team! Must have reliable transportation, a can-do attitude, the ability to be on your feet for several hours at a time, and be able to lift heavy bakery equipment for cleaning. Must have availability on weekdays.

Food & Customer Service Associate
Barstow's is looking for a warm, upbeat, self starter with reliable transportation. Experience in fast paced food service and cash handling is preferred but we will train. Must be available weekdays and at least one weekend day. Duties include cash handling, providing excellent customer service, taking orders via phone and drive thru headset, preparing food for orders, lunch/breakfast prep, complying with health policies, and being an ambassador for our 216 year old family dairy farm.

Herdsperson
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Herdsperson to join our team. As a Herdsperson, you will be responsible for the care and management of our herd, ensuring their health and well-being. This is a physically demanding role that requires strong animal handling skills and a passion for working with livestock.
Duties:
- Provide daily care of the herd, including monitoring their health and behavior
- Perform routine tasks such as cleaning and sanitizing barns, stalls, and equipment
- Assist with breeding programs, including artificial insemination and pregnancy checks
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian
- Maintain accurate records of herd health, breeding, and production data
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment not a must but would help
Qualifications:
-Previous experience working with animals, preferably in a farm or agricultural setting is a plus
- Knowledge of livestock care practices is a plus
- Basic mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and repairs is a plus
- Ability to handle large animals safely and efficiently
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and manual labor
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Taking care of newborn calves, birthing protocols and care of the cow.
Note: This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.

A little about us...
Barstow's Longview Farm cares for a herd of 600 dairy head, milking 300 cows. Our motto on the farm is "Looking Forward Since 1806." We are a part of the Cabot Agri-Mark Cooperative, use Lely Astronaut4 Robot Milkers to milk our herd, and raise all of our own forage on 450 acres. The health, safety, comfort, and welfare of our animals is our first priority.
Barstow's Dairy Store and Bakery opened its doors to the public in June 2008. The motto at the store is "Absolutely local, absolutely delicious!" We are a Local Hero Farm, purchasing groceries and ingredients from nearby farms and food producers. We are a "fast casual" restaurant and bakery focused on providing quality food, excellent customer service, and being actively involved in our community. Our employees do more than just safe food handling, they are also ambassadors for our dairy farm, the dairy industry, and the Barstow family name.
