Eat the Season: Blueberry Bread Pudding
July 16, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
There are many good reasons to eat local, in season food:
- Local food is fresh and nutritious!
- It connects us with nature’s cycles and with the place we call home.
- Local food travels fewer miles from the fields to your kitchen table which means lower emissions, energy, and fuel usage.
- The purchase of local food keeps dollars circulating in your local economy.
- When you buy local food, it keeps farmland open which is good for wildlife, ground water, health and well-being, and food security.
Blueberries are in season! Pick up a pan or several servings of blueberry bread pudding to enjoy with your family on Thursday, July 16. Eat the Season!
Barstow’s homemade blueberry bread pudding will be available on Thursday, 7/16, between 11am-5pm for pick up at Barstow’s drive up window. Order a pan of bread pudding for $40 or pre-order as many $5.25 single servings as you need. Single servings come in a lidded 16oz bowl. We recommend enjoying this dish warm with Maple Valley Creamery vanilla ice cream and/or Cabot whipped cream (yes, we have both!) 🙂
Pre-orders are required. Please call 413-586-2142, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop by at Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery to place your order. We’ll need to know: name of pick up person, phone number, how many single servings or 9×12 pans, and if anyone in your party has an allergy. We also have this handy Google Form where you can place your blueberry bread pudding order.
Can’t wait for Thursday? Barstow’s has blueberries by the pint in stock (while supplies last)! Keen to Eat the Season? We also have summer squash, zucchini, and sweet corn available for pick up at the drive thru window.
Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery and Barstow’s Longview Farm is owned and operated by sixth and seventh generation Barstow’s. Nestled at the base of Skinner State Park and right alongside the Connecticut River, the dairy farm has been a part of the landscape since 1806.
Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery offers homemade baked goods and pies, lunch from local ingredients, farm fresh produce, farm raised beef, ice cream, and scenic views of protected farmland from the porch and dining room. This family friendly store is open daily year round. Come meet your neighborhood dairy farmer!
