What a decade it’s been here on the farm. We’ve had some challenges, important milestones, and made many terrific memories. Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery has become a gathering space for our family, our neighborhood, and our greater community. It’s amazing to reflect on the reason we ever opened in the first place: to save the family farm.
It’s continued to be a roller coaster in the milk market, which remains the primary source of income for our business. We rely on sales at Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery to pay for the food, the labor, the overhead – but also to support Barstow’s Longview Farm. As the price of labor and goods increase, and the price of milk hovers just below break-even, our prices will increase in this new year. Thank you for your understanding and continued support at this time.
It’s been a blessing to become more connected with this place we call home through the people we share it with.
