DESCRIPTION:Pasture Day is a farm favorite! \nAfter inspecting and repairing fence\, the farmers are ready to let the girls out of the barn and into the field. Spring is here! And with winter months in the barn behind them\, the cows will be prancing their way into the green green grass! \nThis event is not to be missed! \nGrab some lunch and some ice cream – and a spot near the pasture! The cows are released at 1:00pm! *New this year: we are NOT using the front pasture\, we are using the pasture to the north of Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery across Barstow Lane. Electric fence will be ON.*\nWe’ll be offering free walking farm tours at 11:30am and 1:30pm. Please note we will not accommodate late arrivals! Wear shoes that can get muddy. The walking tour is about 1/4 mile and involves hills\, uneven terrain\, and weather. \nLive music on the porch by Old Country Road\, 11am-1pm. \nThis is a free\, family friendly event at your local dairy farm! DESCRIPTION:CISA’s Climate Change and Farming Week is held annually in September\, in conjunction with nationwide Climate Week events and the UN General Assembly meetings in New York. \nThis year\, Barstow’s Longview Farm will be offering a free walking farm tour at 10:00am with a focus toward climate. We will visit our anaerobic digester\, which converts food waste and cow manure into green energy. Stand in a bunk silo and consider how dairy farms keep land open in our community. Check out the dairy barn and learn how our farm is doing more with less while adapting to hotter summers. And end at the calf barn before returning back to Barstow’s as a group. \nThe tour begins promptly at the top of the stairs at Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery. Please park in the bakery’s parking lot or along Barstow Lane. Please note we will not accommodate late arrivals! Wear shoes that can get muddy and clothes that can smell like a cow. The walking tour is about 1/4 mile\, takes around 1 hour\, and involves hills\, uneven terrain\, weather\, and is mostly outdoors. This event is rain or shine\, no rain date.

Complete and submit your Dairy Crawl Passport by July 4 to be entered to win!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \nWe farmers have been friends and neighbors for generations.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe all face similar challenges – development of farmland\, difficulty finding reliable labor\, and razor thin profit margins. DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a walking tour of our new Lely Vector automatic feeding system on Sunday\, April 28 at 10am. We will visit the dairy barn to see the Vector. Please note that this is not a full-farm tour\, it is just of our new\, very cool system. \nThis tour will take ~30 minutes. We will begin and end at Barstow’s Dairy Store and Bakery and we will not be able accomodate late arrivals. The tour will leave promptly at 10am. The walking tour takes us up a hill with uneven terrain and ~1/4  mile. Rain or shine\, please dress appropriately for the weather. \nNo reservations are required. Please meet at the top of the stairs on Barstow Lane (across from the drive-thru speaker). The tour is $3/person\, kids under 12 are free\, this tour is geared toward an adult audience. We accept cash and credit card\, but please note we have a $5 minimum on cards. Thank you!

DESCRIPTION:Visit your neighborhood dairy farm on Monday\, April 22 for an Absolutely local\, absolutely delicious farm raised steak dinner.\nEach steak dinner includes a Barstow’s farm raised rib eye steak\, grilled to your liking\, a baked potato with the fixings\, green beans\, and for dessert\, a brownie sundae with local ice cream. \nEnjoy your supper at Barstow’s or order your meal to-go and pick it up on your way home from work. The whole kitchen will be open until 7pm – and we’ll have homemade Mac&Cheese for the smaller eaters. Barstow’s closes at 8pm. \nSittings are at 5:00pm or 6:45pm.
